NET WORLD SPORTS IS RATED SUCKS ASS
I’m posting this because I don’t want anyone to go through what I recently experienced.
As an avid basketball fan, I decide to purchase a new basketball hoop (if you want to know what happened to my old one, listen to Episode 75 of the Son of Smiley Podcast) for the house in order to pass the pain of not being able to perform. Not surprisingly, everyone is looking for a basketball hoop, and every store is sold out.
Except for a company called Net World Sports.
So gleefully, I ordered my hoop on May 10th. The shipping date indicated May 30th, but I was happy to wait. After all, it’s better than nothing.
Boy, did I make a giant mistake.
May 30th rolls around, and I hear nothing from Net World Sports. And I mean nothing, not an email, dispatch notice, shipping information, or phone call. NOTHING. However, since it was a Saturday, I thought I’d give it until Monday.
June 3rd comes around, and I still hear nothing. At this point, I decided to call them. Their phone number indicated on the website goes straight into a voicemail saying they are not answering their phones because of COVID (makes perfect logical sense - not). So I decide to send an email. This is what I received in return:
It’s going to take them a whopping 7 to 10 business days to RESPOND to my email. Not provide a solution, but to RESPOND.
Feeling uneasy, I decided to google the company, and the reviews are…atrocious:
One review literally just typed the word “avoid” 6 times in a row:
So now I’m 90% sure I’m not getting a basketball hoop. I decided to email them again asking for a refund, and again, the same email. I decided to go on their Facebook page, and it was a massive pile of holy shit.
People were leaving comments on their ads (and I mean every ad) with order numbers as Hail Mary attempts to get a response from them. It was a museum of horror stories:
There was even a Facebook page dedicated to how shitty they are. With not 1, 2, but 25 likes:
I dug a little deeper, and it seemed like the only way people can get a response from this dumpster fire of a customer service department is by commenting on their Facebook ads. I decided to do the same:
Of course. No response. So I got angry and went on twitter. First I commented on their ads:
Then I just straight up gave them my endorsement:
The owner of the company, Alex Loven, has a twitter and instagram page. I was about to make sure he gets a lot more famous on the internet, when to my surprise, a response came in 2 days later:
And then an email followed:
Adam kindly offered to send my hoop on JUNE 29TH. He also promised goodies because I am apparently fucking 5 years old. He also most likely copied and pasted that email because his formatting looks like his computer is having a seizure. So I wrote back something very to the point:
Suddenly, a manager named Alex emails me. Is it Alex Loven? Who knows. But this is what he wrote:
Alex, a Manager, decided to ignore my request for a refund and miraculously found a basketball hoop for me (he must have a time machine that took him to June 29th). He is also glad that we are back on track, whatever the fuck that means. All I know is that it means I’m not getting a refund. So I wrote this:
I gotta say, I’m still pretty nice at this point. I hear nothing from Alex. Next day, I get a dispatch notice that the hoop I no longer wanted was shipped:
I check the Fedex tracking and they are sending the package with the one day option. Are they sending me cash? After all, I wanted a refund. Before I can figure this out, ANOTHER dispatch email comes in an hour later:
This time, there is a tracking for FEDEX AND UPS. Are they shipping 2 basketball hoops? 2 bags of cash? Is Net World Sports even a company? What the fuck? So I wrote Alex again:
And Alex is gone. Adam is back. This is what he wrote:
So this is where I am at now. Am I actually going to get my money back? Who knows. All I know is if you want a one way ticket into a consumer clusterfuck, go ahead and buy something from Net World Sports.
We shall see if I get my money back. If not, trust me, you will ALL hear about it.
